As the Toronto Blue Jays prepare for the upcoming season, the organization has made several adjustments to their roster. On March 7, 2026, the team announced that left-handed pitcher Adam Macko has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. This decision reflects the Blue Jays’ ongoing efforts to finalize their lineup ahead of Opening Day.

Macko’s performance during the 2025 season saw him split time between the Florida Complex League and Triple-A, primarily with the Buffalo Bisons. Over the course of 64.0 innings, he recorded a 5.06 ERA and a 3-8 record across ten starts. The 25-year-old pitcher made two appearances for the Blue Jays during the 2026 spring training, during which he struck out two batters in three innings. His spring training was briefly interrupted as he left to represent Canada in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

In a recent tune-up game against the Blue Jays, Macko demonstrated his skills by pitching one scoreless inning while allowing just one hit. Originally drafted in the seventh round by the Seattle Mariners in 2019, Macko’s potential continues to draw attention as he develops further in the Minor League system.

In addition to Macko’s reassignment, the Blue Jays also announced that right-handed pitchers Fernando Perez and Gage Stanifer have been assigned to Minor League camp. These moves signify the team’s commitment to refining their roster as they look to cement their strategy ahead of the new season.

As the Blue Jays make these roster changes, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how these decisions impact the team’s performance in the weeks leading up to the start of the regular season.
