Blue Jays Complete Sweep of Orioles with 11-2 Victory
The Toronto Blue Jays triumphed over the Baltimore Orioles with an emphatic 11-2 victory on September 14, 2025, completing a three-game sweep. Pitcher Shane Bieber delivered a strong performance, allowing just one run over six innings while striking out five batters.
Bieber’s only mistake came in the second inning when Coby Mayo hit a 412-foot solo home run to center field. Apart from that, Bieber limited the Orioles to only three additional hits, showcasing his dominance on the mound. With this win, Bieber improved his season record to 3-1.
Offensive Power Leads the Way
The Blue Jays’ offense was powered by Ernie Clement and George Springer, who each contributed two runs batted in. Clement’s pivotal double in the fourth inning gave Toronto a 2-0 lead, while Springer’s leadoff home run in the fifth extended the advantage. This marked Springer’s 29th home run of the season and his 11th in just 26 games since returning from a concussion on August 16.
The Blue Jays (87-62) capitalized on opportunities, scoring six runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by Addison Barger’s bases-clearing double, which punctuated a dominant performance. The team has now secured its tenth sweep of the season, trailing only the Milwaukee Brewers, who have achieved eleven sweeps.
The Orioles (69-80), struggling at the bottom of the American League East, faced their third consecutive loss and were outscored 22-7 in the series. Starting pitcher Albert Suarez exited after three innings, conceding two runs on two hits while striking out five. Reliever Grant Wolfram allowed Clement’s double that shifted the momentum in favor of the Blue Jays.
Upcoming Challenges for Toronto
Toronto will look to maintain its momentum as they head into a four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage, aged 22, is set to make his Major League Baseball debut in the opener. The Rays have not yet announced their starting pitcher for the matchup.
With a growing sense of optimism, the Blue Jays aim to solidify their position in the playoff race as the season approaches its conclusion.
