Bundesliga Club Expresses Interest in Celtic’s Maeda, Transfer Fails
A Bundesliga club recently expressed interest in Celtic forward Daizen Maeda, but discussions for a potential transfer did not materialize. The 27-year-old player was reportedly enthusiastic about the move, but no agreement was reached, according to football journalist Anthony Joseph on social media platform X.
Reactions from Key Figures in Scottish Football
Former Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart weighed in on the situation, sharing his belief that former Manchester City teammate Kelechi Iheanacho could thrive at Celtic if he can find his rhythm in the team. Hart expressed confidence in manager Brendan Rodgers, asserting that Rodgers remains dedicated to Celtic and manages to “keep his cool” during challenging periods.
Meanwhile, Billy Dodds, a former striker and coach at Rangers, had previously suggested that Bojan Miovski would be an ideal addition for the club. Miovski joined Rangers last month, adding to the ongoing player movement discussions in the Scottish leagues.
In other transfer news, Rangers right-back Zander Hutton, aged 19, has been loaned to Hamilton Academical to gain more playing time, indicating the club’s strategy to develop young talent.
Players Addressing Future Prospects
In a related development, Lyndon Dykes, a 29-year-old Scotland forward, stated that Hibernian made efforts to secure his signing. Dykes, however, will continue to focus on his responsibilities with Birmingham City for the time being.
Another noteworthy mention is Barrie McKay, a 30-year-old winger and Scotland international, who is eager to return to the pitch after parting ways with Hearts at the end of last season. McKay expressed his desire to “get back playing and enjoying my football again.”
The Scottish football community is also looking ahead to Monday’s match between Scotland and Belarus. Carlos Alos, the Belarusian head coach, acknowledged the challenge in motivating his players following a significant 5-1 defeat to Greece last Friday.
While rumors circulate regarding potential movements within clubs, the focus remains on the ongoing matches and the players’ commitment to their current teams. The transfer window remains open, and further developments are anticipated as clubs continue to seek opportunities for strengthening their rosters.
