Canada will welcome Ecuador for a men’s soccer friendly match on November 13, 2025, at BMO Field in Toronto. This game is part of the November FIFA international window and marks a significant occasion for the Canadian team, which is currently ranked an all-time high at 28th in the world. The upcoming match is only the second encounter between the two teams; their first meeting ended in a 2-2 draw in June 2011 at the same venue.

In a statement, Canada’s head coach Jesse Marsch expressed his enthusiasm for the home advantage, saying, “Playing at home means so much to this group. It’s an opportunity to feel the nation rally behind us, fuelling our team as we continue to build on the movement we’ve created. We’re excited to have another electric Toronto crowd as we close out our final matches before the World Cup year begins.”

Ecuador, currently ranked 25th in the world, has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup. The team is performing well in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying standings, sitting second with a record of 7 wins, 2 draws, and 7 losses. Their qualification was secured after a 1-1 draw against Peru in June, assuring them one of the six South American berths.

Prior to facing Ecuador, the Canadian team will compete against Romania in Bucharest on September 5, 2025, followed by a match against Wales, ranked 31st, in Swansea on September 9, 2025. Looking ahead, the Canadian men will host Australia, ranked 24th, at Montreal’s Saputo Stadium on October 10, 2025, before playing against Colombia in Harrison, New Jersey, on October 14, 2025.

Canada Soccer has indicated that another friendly match will be announced for November, further showcasing the team’s preparations as it heads into a crucial year leading up to the World Cup.

The match against Ecuador is a collaborative effort between Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, along with sports marketing agencies SPORTFIVE and Lions Sports Media. MLSE, which owns Toronto FC of Major League Soccer and the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts, manages BMO Field, providing a familiar setting for the national team and its supporters.
