Drew Fielder, a highly regarded offensive lineman from Servite High School in Anaheim, has officially committed to the Oregon Ducks. This announcement marks a significant step in his athletic career, as Fielder is considered one of the top offensive line prospects in the United States. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, he is rated as the No. 471 player nationally and holds a four-star ranking by Rivals, placing him at No. 292 overall.

Fielder made his decision following a visit to the University of Oregon over the weekend. Initially uncertain about committing, he felt an immediate connection after the visit. “Going into the visit, I really wasn’t planning to commit,” Fielder stated. “I didn’t have a timeframe, but after seeing and hearing everything about Oregon, I know it’s where I wanted to be.”

The decision to join the Ducks stemmed from several compelling factors. Fielder expressed that Oregon embodies everything he seeks in a football program. “Between the coaching staff, the player development, and the team culture, they are really second to none,” he said. His appreciation for the coaching staff is particularly evident in his comments about Coach A’lique Terry, the offensive line coach. “He’s a proven coach, and that success is shown in their film study and NFL production. He’s a model for the offensive line room and gets the best out of his guys.”

The impact of Oregon’s head coach, Dan Lanning, also influenced Fielder’s choice. “Coach Lanning is huge on team connection and relationships,” he remarked. “That is a huge part of their success as a unit. He is a great model and leader to what that looks like as a coach, and it runs through the staff and players.”

Fielder’s recruitment has gained momentum this off-season, with notable interest from several universities. Arizona State, UCLA, and Utah conducted home visits, while Oregon, Kansas, California, Nebraska, Washington, Michigan, Boise State, San Diego State, and Arizona also made visits to his school. His rapid rise in recruitment is attributed to his development as a player. Previously a tight end, Fielder transitioned to offensive tackle during his junior season, showcasing remarkable physical attributes that made him a coveted prospect.

His frame and ability to combine length with mobility set him apart. Observers noted his transition during a practice last spring, where he demonstrated not only the physical edge necessary for success in the trenches but also natural athleticism. These qualities have contributed to his reputation as a classic late bloomer in high school football.

Now committed to the Ducks, Fielder joins a prestigious program that continues to attract top talent. As he prepares for the next chapter of his football career, anticipation grows for what he will accomplish at Oregon. The Ducks are excited to welcome this rising star to their roster, confident in his potential to make a significant impact on the team.
