Fantasy Football Week 11: Key Last-Minute Pickups to Consider
As the fantasy football season progresses, injuries and bye weeks can create significant challenges for team managers. In Week 11 of the NFL season, several players are emerging as viable last-minute pickups to reinforce fantasy lineups. This article highlights options primarily rostered in fewer than 50% of ESPN leagues, providing insights on quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, a tight end, and a defense to consider for this week.
Quarterback Options
Joe Flacco of the Cincinnati Bengals, currently rostered in only 39.3% of leagues, is a strong option against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In their previous encounter during Week 7, Flacco delivered an impressive performance, scoring 25.98 points by throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns. With an average of more than 43 pass attempts per game over the last month, Flacco has shown he can produce substantial points, particularly when playing from behind.
Another quarterback to consider is Marcus Mariota of the Washington Commanders, who is rostered in 14.7% of leagues. In the Week 10 loss against the Detroit Lions, Mariota scored 18.72 points and demonstrated his ability to contribute on the ground, rushing for 22 yards on five carries. Facing a Miami Dolphins defense that allows 19.5 points per game to opposing quarterbacks, Mariota offers potential for solid returns.
Finally, J.J. McCarthy of the Minnesota Vikings, now at 48.5% rostered, is also worth considering. Despite concerns about his recent throwing efficiency, McCarthy offers rushing upside, having scored 22.22 points in their prior meeting against the Chicago Bears. With a positive matchup ahead, he could exploit weaknesses in the Bears’ defense.
Wide Receiver and Running Back Insights
At the wide receiver position, Michael Wilson of the Arizona Cardinals, rostered in just 8.7% of leagues, is stepping into a larger role with Marvin Harrison Jr. out. Wilson is set to become the No. 1 receiver, averaging 6.1 targets per game, which is likely to increase.
Another notable name is Tez Johnson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, currently at 35.4% rostered. Johnson had a standout performance last week against the New England Patriots, scoring a career-high 20.2 points with two touchdowns. His ability to stretch the field makes him a compelling option against the Buffalo Bills.
For those seeking running back options, Devin Singletary of the New York Giants, rostered in 33.0% of leagues, could be a valuable addition. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Giants’ backfield with interim coach Mike Kafka, Singletary’s pass-catching abilities make him an intriguing choice for deeper leagues.
Additionally, Tyjae Spears of the Tennessee Titans, rostered in 37.3% of leagues, is expected to see increased volume against the Houston Texans. Spears has recorded at least three receptions in his last four games, making him a reliable option in a challenging matchup.
As for tight ends, Dalton Schultz of the Houston Texans is a potential pickup, currently rostered in 47.2% of leagues. If he is cleared to play after a shoulder injury, Schultz offers TE1 potential, having recently scored 18.3 points.
For defensive options, the Dallas Cowboys, rostered in 28.5% of leagues, are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders next week. With their recent performances, including multiple games scoring over 13 points and significant sack opportunities, the Cowboys are well-positioned to capitalize on turnovers against a struggling offense.
These strategic additions could provide the necessary boosts to fantasy teams as the season approaches its midpoint. Consider these players as potential solutions to enhance your lineup in Week 11.
