In a thrilling finish, the Florida Panthers edged out the Utah Mammoth 4-3 on March 6, 2024, in Salt Lake City. The decisive moment came with just 50.8 seconds left in the game when Anton Lundell scored, tipping in a loose puck in front of the net. This victory marked the Panthers’ third consecutive win, solidifying their momentum as they embark on a four-game road trip.

The game showcased notable performances, particularly from Sam Bennett, who contributed two goals and an assist, bringing his total to seven points in the last three outings. Carter Verhaeghe also made a significant impact, notching a goal and an assist, extending his point streak to seven games with a total of seven goals and six assists during that stretch.

The scoring opened with a goal from Dylan Guenther of the Mammoth at 11:23 of the first period. The Panthers responded emphatically, with Verhaeghe equalizing just 43 seconds later. Bennett then capitalized on the momentum, scoring two quick goals within 104 seconds to give Florida a 3-1 lead early in the second period.

Utah fought back, with Guenther netting his second goal just 13 seconds after Bennett’s second strike, narrowing the gap to 3-2. Jack McBain further challenged the Panthers by tying the game at 3-3 with 5:23 remaining in the second period. The back-and-forth nature of the contest kept fans on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed tenacity.

As the game progressed into the final moments, the tension mounted. With less than a minute left on the clock, Lundell’s game-winner was assisted by Sam Reinhart and Eetu Luostarinen, sealing the Panthers’ victory. In goal, Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves, while Utah’s Karel Vejmelka stopped 32 shots.

Following this match, the Panthers are set to face the Colorado Avalanche on March 7, while the Mammoth will host the Seattle Kraken on March 8. The competitive edge displayed in this game indicates that both teams will be looking to build on their performances as the season progresses.
