Azuki Transforms into Omoi, Enhances Manga Experience
Azuki, a digital and print manga company, has officially rebranded as Omoi. This transition marks a significant change for the company, which aims to enhance its identity while maintaining the same catalog, user experience, payment model, and pricing structure. The rebranding is set to roll out this week, featuring a new domain, logo, color scheme, and overall brand identity across all platforms.
In Japanese, the term “Omoi” translates to “thought” or “feeling.” This new name reflects the dedication and care that the small team at Omoi has invested in both their manga releases and user interface over the past four years. The rebranding comes as Omoi prepares for an ambitious expansion of its catalog in 2026, according to Co-Founder and Licensing/Marketing Director Evan Minto.
Changes and Consistency
The new website will be accessible at omoi.com, and the apps will be available under the name Omoi: Manga Reader on both Android and iOS platforms. Despite the significant changes in branding, the company assures users that the core experience will remain unchanged. This continuity reassures existing customers who may have concerns about the transition.
Minto highlighted that the rebranding also aims to eliminate brand confusion associated with the previous name, which was shared by other companies in different industries. As the manga landscape evolves, Omoi is poised to play a more significant role, especially with new titles like My Dear Detective: Mitsuko’s Case Files, Natsume & Natsume, and You’re So Sloppy, Hotta-sensei currently being serialized.
Partnerships and Print Releases
Alongside digital offerings, Omoi continues to release print editions of its titles. The company collaborates with reputable publishing houses such as Scholastic’s Graphix and Penguin Random House’s Ink Pop to distribute popular series, including Hikaru in the Light and upcoming titles like Crescent Moon Marching and Our Aimless Nights.
As the manga industry continues to grow, Omoi’s rebranding serves as a strategic move to strengthen its market position. The company’s commitment to quality and user satisfaction remains central to its operations, ensuring that it caters effectively to both existing fans and new readers. With a clear vision for the future, Omoi is set to navigate the evolving landscape of digital and print manga effectively.
