Fights in Tight Spaces Expands with New Dog Companion and Features
Four years after its initial launch, the tactical card game Fights in Tight Spaces has received an expansion titled K9 Division, introducing a canine companion to assist players in combat. This update not only adds a new character but also an enhanced gameplay system that allows for unique team dynamics.
In Fights in Tight Spaces, players assume the role of the suave silhouette known as Agent 11. The game takes the strategic elements of classic turn-based tactics and infuses them with a gritty, action-packed style reminiscent of films like John Wick. Players navigate isometric battle scenarios, utilizing a hand of martial-arts themed cards to defeat monochromatic enemies.
New Features and Gameplay Enhancements
The K9 Division expansion introduces a helpful dog named Agent K, who can perform various actions during combat. This includes biting enemies, barking to intimidate foes, or distracting them to provide Agent 11 with strategic advantages. Ground Shatter has implemented an “all-new assistant system,” allowing players to execute dramatic combo moves with both characters.
Players can explore this new assistant system through two distinct canine starter decks, each offering a different fighting style with a total of 50 new cards. Additionally, the expansion features a “remixed story mode,” enabling players to experience the game anew with Agent K by their side, alongside new adversaries to confront.
One quirky highlight of the expansion is a card dedicated to petting the dog, adding a light-hearted touch to the tactical gameplay.
Background on Development and Pricing
Ground Shatter’s decision to release the K9 Division expansion stems partly from its recent game, Knights in Tight Spaces, which includes companion systems similar to this update. While Knights has received a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, players have noted that it lacks the immediate appeal of its predecessor, Fights in Tight Spaces.
The K9 Division expansion is available now for a suggested retail price of $10 (£8.50). To celebrate the launch, Ground Shatter is offering a 10% discount, reducing the price to $9 (£7.65) until October 2. This expansion not only revitalizes interest in the game but also enhances its depth and engagement for both new and returning players.
As Fights in Tight Spaces continues to evolve, the addition of K9 Division signifies the developers’ commitment to expanding the tactical card genre with innovative features and engaging content.
