Frosthaven Launches Early Access on July 31, 2025

Frosthaven, a dark fantasy tactical RPG inspired by the acclaimed board game, is set to enter Early Access for PC on July 31, 2025. Developed by Snapshot Games in partnership with Arc Games, Asmodee, and Cephalofair Games, this digital adaptation will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store at a price of £33.50 / €38.99.
The development team includes industry veterans such as Julian Gollop, known for creating the XCOM series, and board game designer Isaac Childres, who serves as a consultant. Together, they aim to deliver a rich experience that faithfully mirrors the original tabletop gameplay. Upon launch, players will have access to approximately one-third of the complete game, with additional content and enhancements scheduled for release every three months throughout the Early Access period.
Gameplay Features and Collaborative Bundles
In an effort to enhance engagement, Arc Games has collaborated with Twin Sails to offer a special bundle that includes both Frosthaven and Gloomhaven Digital. This bundle will also be available on the launch day, providing players with a comprehensive digital experience.
The Early Access version of Frosthaven will feature an array of gameplay options, including both single-player and online co-op modes. Players can expect support for GeForce NOW, eight playable characters (six available from the start and two unlockable), over 40 tactical quests, and 100 choice-driven events. Additionally, a dynamic Outpost system will allow players to build structures and complete objectives, unlocking new gameplay elements as they progress.
Launch Celebrations at Gen Con 2025
To celebrate this significant milestone, Frosthaven will be featured at Gen Con 2025, taking place from July 31 to August 3. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience an exclusive demo at booths 1643, hosted by Cephalofair Games, and 3015, managed by Forteller Games. The event will also include special merchandise and the chance to meet the developers behind the digital adaptation.
Whether players are seasoned fans of the board game or newcomers to the franchise, the Early Access release represents the beginning of an exciting journey within a richly crafted tactical universe.
