Jeep Rebrands for 2026: ‘Wagoneer’ Nameplate Retired, ‘Grand Wagoneer’ Takes Lead
Jeep has announced a significant change to its vehicle lineup, consolidating the “Wagoneer” and “Grand Wagoneer” names into a single model starting with the 2026 model year. This decision aims to reduce confusion among consumers who mistakenly believed that a Grand Wagoneer was a larger version of the Wagoneer. Under the new branding, all models will be designated as “Grand Wagoneer,” with long-wheelbase variants identified by an ‘L’ suffix.
This rebranding effort follows feedback from customers and reflects a broader strategy for simplicity within Jeep’s product offerings. Previously, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer lines were differentiated primarily by trim levels and powertrain options rather than size, which contributed to consumer misunderstanding.

As part of this transition, Jeep plans to eliminate the current “Series I,” “Series II,” and “Series III” trim designations for the Grand Wagoneer.
