Ludiger Launches Steam Page and Opens Public Playtest for Gamers

Ludiger, an upcoming digital board game developed by the indie studio Liz-Arts, has officially launched its Steam store page and is inviting players to participate in a public playtest. This initiative allows gamers to engage with the game prior to its full release, offering a unique opportunity to experience its blend of classic and modern tactical gameplay.
Described as a “Chess × SRPG-like strategy board game,” Ludiger challenges players to command a set of chips on a grid-based battlefield. Each chip has its own health points and special abilities, requiring players to strategize and think multiple moves ahead as they aim to dismantle their opponent’s base. The game promotes a deep level of tactical thinking, combining familiar chess mechanics with the complexity of strategy role-playing games.
The latest version of Ludiger builds on the previous release from 2023, which was exclusive to Windows. The new iteration broadens its accessibility, now supporting both Windows and Mac platforms. Additionally, it introduces new online features, including Steam achievements and an Elo-based ranking system that tracks player performance, enhancing the competitive aspect of the game.
Multiple Game Modes for Diverse Playstyles
Beyond its competitive Online Battle mode, Ludiger caters to various playstyles with multiple modes. Players who prefer solo challenges can engage with AI opponents in the CPU Battle mode, allowing for practice and strategy refinement. For those looking to enjoy a more social gaming experience, the One Board Battle mode enables friends to compete against each other on a shared screen.
The unique combination of chess-inspired mechanics and SRPG-style depth positions Ludiger as an enticing option for strategy game enthusiasts. The public playtest on Steam provides a timely opportunity for players to explore the innovative design and mechanics that Liz-Arts has crafted, paving the way for a fresh yet familiar challenge in the strategy game genre.
For those interested in participating, the playtest is accessible directly through the Steam platform, inviting players to dive into the tactical battles of Ludiger. As the game moves closer to its official launch, feedback from the testing phase will likely play a crucial role in shaping its final version.
