Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Leak Reveals Open-Ear Design Features
Details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 have emerged from leaked information within the One UI 8.5 firmware. The leaks confirm that the standard model will feature an open-ear design, distinguishing it from the higher-end Buds 4 Pro. This move aligns with Samsung’s trend of enhancing user comfort while maintaining a familiar aesthetic.
Design and Features of the Galaxy Buds 4
The Galaxy Buds 4 will resemble their Pro counterparts with a similar “stem” design but will notably forego the silicone ear tips found in the Pro version. This open-ear design aims to provide a distinct fit within Samsung’s audio lineup. Noteworthy is the apparent removal of the “Blade Lights,” which were a signature feature of the previous generation’s earbuds. The latest images, shared by Android Authority, suggest a cleaner, more streamlined appearance for the upcoming model.
Additionally, Samsung appears to be reverting to a horizontal orientation for the charging case, a design that many users have found more convenient. This change allows the earbuds to be placed flat inside the case, facilitating easier access compared to the vertical arrangement of the prior generation.
Innovative Functionalities and Launch Timeline
Among the exciting new features is the introduction of a physical gesture for activating “Interpreter Mode.” This function will enable real-time conversation translation by pinching and holding both earbud stems simultaneously. This feature allows users to engage in live translations without needing to rely on their smartphones or tablets.
The anticipated launch of the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro is set for early 2026, coinciding with the release of Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S smartphone. If this timeline holds true, it will be less than a year after the debut of the Buds 3 series in July 2024.
As Samsung continues to innovate in the audio space, the transition to a more minimalist design approach may resonate well with consumers seeking both style and functionality in their wireless earbuds.
