3 Arrested, 1 Still At Large After Police Chase in Etobicoke
BREAKING: Three suspects are in custody and one remains at large following a dramatic police collision in Etobicoke as authorities responded to a robbery call on July 16, 2023. The incident unfolded in the Mimico-Queensway neighborhood at approximately 3:30 p.m., near the intersection of Kipling Avenue and The Queensway.
Toronto Police reported that they were responding to a robbery at a cell phone store when a suspect vehicle attempted to flee, leading to a collision involving police vehicles. A civilian vehicle was also struck during the chaos, but the driver escaped without injuries.
Paramedics reported that two individuals were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. In an update, police confirmed that one suspect was also taken to the hospital, while two officers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Authorities are maintaining a heavy police presence in the area as investigations continue. Motorists are advised to avoid the vicinity, as northbound Kipling is closed at North Queen Street, and southbound Kipling is shut down at Jutland Road. Additionally, Jutland is off-limits between Islington and Kipling Avenue.
