Abbotsford Launches BC Culture Days with Exciting Event
URGENT UPDATE: Abbotsford has been officially selected to host the highly anticipated launch event for the 2025 BC Culture Days, set to take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This province-wide celebration of arts, culture, and heritage is expected to draw significant attention as it kicks off a three-week series of free and interactive cultural programming throughout British Columbia.
The launch event will run from 10:30 AM to 2 PM at The Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford. Attendees can look forward to an array of vibrant activities, including live musical performances, cultural displays, exhibit tours, and family-friendly interactive experiences.
Highlights include exhilarating dhol drumming, captivating bhangra dancing, and a live performance by the Rainbow Jazz Ensemble. Families can engage in collaborative drawing and painting, create banana husk dolls, practice Mandarin calligraphy, and try their hand at origami.
Mayor Ross Siemens expressed his excitement, stating,
“As the cultural and economic hub of the Fraser Valley, our community strives to embrace all of the unique cultures, backgrounds, and voices that make up Abbotsford. The BC Culture Days launch event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent, culture, and creativity found right here in Abbotsford.”
This year’s BC Culture Days will run from September 19 to October 12, offering an extensive range of free activities, performances, and educational opportunities designed to boost public engagement in the arts. The initiative is part of a national effort to foster greater participation in cultural events across the country.
