Airdrie Man Charged After Hit-and-Run Injures 17-Year-Old

BREAKING: A man has been charged following a hit-and-run incident that left a 17-year-old girl injured in Airdrie. The incident occurred just after 8:30 a.m. on October 2 at the intersection of Windhaven Gate and Windstone Road S.W. Witnesses reported that the girl was in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a white Dodge Caravan.

According to the Airdrie RCMP, the driver briefly exited his vehicle but appeared “upset” with the teen. After a short exchange, he returned to the car and fled the scene, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

On Monday, RCMP confirmed that a 35-year-old man has been charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident. While his name has not been released due to the information not being sworn, he is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on December 11.
