UPDATE: Airdrie RCMP urgently request public assistance to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery at the Servus Credit Union, occurring earlier today, September 30, 2023, at 9:38 a.m.. This brazen crime unfolded at 2800 Main Street South, raising concerns within the community.

Witnesses reported that a man wearing a blue surgical mask entered the credit union, threatening to shoot the cashier unless cash was handed over. Although no firearm was displayed and thankfully, no injuries were reported, the suspect managed to flee the scene on a bicycle.

Authorities later discovered the suspect’s bicycle abandoned near a dumpster close to the Morningside residences, along with clothing believed to have been worn during the robbery. This critical evidence could lead to identifying the suspect involved in this alarming incident.

Airdrie RCMP are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in their investigation. Officials are particularly interested in dashcam or home surveillance footage captured around the Servus Credit Union or within the Morningside community between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. today.
