Alberta Companies Launch Urgent Wellness Programs to Reward Employees

Multinational energy leader Enbridge Inc. is also enhancing its wellness offerings, emphasizing an employee-first approach. Enbridge’s offices are equipped with gyms and host free fitness classes, enhancing employee engagement and promoting a balanced lifestyle.
Research underscores the significance of these programs. A study conducted by Steve Grover at McGill found that employees who actively participated in wellness programs experienced decreased blood pressure, better sleep quality, and reduced fatigue. “The more employees engaged, the greater the benefits,” Grover stated, confirming a strong cause-and-effect relationship.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advocates for workplace health promotion programs, noting their potential to drive positive changes for individuals and organizations alike. According to the CDC, these initiatives can lower health care costs, reduce absenteeism, and improve workplace morale.
