UPDATE: The 2025 SSA Provincial High School Football Playoffs are set to begin this weekend, with thrilling quarterfinal matchups scheduled for November 15, 2025. Fans can expect intense action as teams vie for a spot in the prestigious Alberta Bowl.

The competition is fierce, and the stakes are high as the top-ranked teams face off. At the heart of the excitement is the matchup between the defending champions, the Harry Ainlay Titans, who will take on the Notre Dame Cougars at 3 p.m. in the Jasper Place Bowl in Edmonton. Last year, the Titans dominated this same matchup, winning 63-0. The Cougars are eager for redemption and have shown their strength this season by competing against top-ranked teams.

In another thrilling contest, the L.C.I. Rams will face the Ernest Manning Griffins at 1 p.m. at Hellard Field, Shouldice Park in Calgary. Both teams are coming off strong seasons, and the Rams are looking to avenge a previous loss to the Griffins earlier this season. This matchup is poised to be a nail-biter.

Fans won’t want to miss the historic clash between the storied programs of the St. Francis Browns and the Raymond Comets, also at 1 p.m. at Comets Stadium. The Comets, undefeated since their early season loss, aim to continue their winning streak against a Browns team that has faced its share of challenges in recent weeks.

The day will conclude with the Salisbury Sabres taking on the Notre Dame Pride at 3:30 p.m. in Calgary. The Pride have been a dominant force in Calgary this season, going 5-0 in league play, but the Sabres are determined to make their mark.

In the 4A Northern Semi-Finals, the St. Josephs Celtics will clash with the Austin O’Brien Crusaders at 12 p.m. in Edmonton. This rematch from last year’s thrilling playoff game promises another close battle, while the Cold Lake Royals take on the Hunting Hills Lightning at 3 p.m. in Red Deer.

The excitement continues in the Southern Semi-Finals with the Bishop Carroll Cardinals challenging the top-ranked Holy Trinity Academy Knights at 1 p.m. at Stampeder Field, Shouldice Park. The Cardinals may be unranked, but their competitive spirit could lead to an upset.

All eyes will be on the field as teams fight for their chance to advance. Each game carries the weight of tradition, passion, and the dreams of young athletes looking to make their mark in Alberta football history.
