UPDATE: Alec Baldwin has confirmed he is safe following a car accident on Monday in East Hampton. The actor crashed into a tree while attempting to avoid a garbage truck he described as “the size of a whale.”

In a brief but urgent video posted to his Instagram, Baldwin reassured fans, stating, “I just want to post a quick message. I’m fine.” He elaborated on the incident, explaining that he was cut off by the truck and, in trying to dodge it, collided with a “big fat tree.”

Baldwin was driving with his brother in his wife’s car when the accident occurred. “I crushed the car, but it’s all fine, I’m fine, and my brother’s fine,” he added, underscoring that both he and his brother escaped without serious injuries.

The East Hampton police responded promptly to the scene, and Baldwin extended his gratitude for their assistance. He concluded his message by expressing love and pride for his wife, stating, “Hilaria, I love you more than anything and I’m very proud of you.”

This incident comes as Baldwin remains in the public eye following the tragic shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film Rust in 2021. In July 2024, a judge officially dismissed the involuntary manslaughter charge against him, making it clear that the case cannot be retried.

The crash was initially reported by TMZ, adding to Baldwin’s ongoing saga in the spotlight. Baldwin’s fans are relieved to hear he is doing well after such a frightening incident.

As Baldwin focuses on his family after this latest scare, followers will be eager to see how he continues to navigate his life in the public eye.
