Alexander Zharovsky Aims to Join Canadiens After Olympics
UPDATE: HFTV insiders have just reported that Alexander Zharovsky, a highly regarded Russian prospect, is eager to make his way to Canada following the upcoming Olympics. This news comes as the Montreal Canadiens gear up for a pivotal season, and fans are buzzing with anticipation.
HFTV’s insider, known for accurately predicting Ivan Demidov’s arrival last year, suggests that Zharovsky’s move could happen soon. The prospect, currently under contract with a KHL team until 2027, is reportedly keen to transition to the NHL, which could reshape the Canadiens’ roster.
This potential move is significant for Canadiens fans as Zharovsky’s arrival could bolster the team’s lineup. His talent has been noted, but unlike Demidov, who was in the final year of his contract, Zharovsky has a longer-term deal that complicates matters. Fans are left wondering if the Canadiens will push to expedite his move, despite the KHL contract.
Marco D’Amico from HFTV was the first to publicly announce Zharovsky’s interest in joining the Canadiens. The insider emphasized the distinction between Zharovsky’s situation and that of Demidov, highlighting that while NHL prospects often seek to migrate to North America, Zharovsky’s contract status is unique.
“Zharovsky will probably need more seasoning, so the Habs are likely comfortable with him playing one more season in the KHL,” said Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports. “This isn’t the same situation as Demidov’s.”
The Canadiens successfully acquired Demidov before his contract expired, raising hopes that a similar scenario could unfold with Zharovsky. However, as Cloutier notes, the talent levels and contract situations differ. Zharovsky is seen as a promising player but not in the same elite category as Demidov or fellow prospect Matvei Michkov, who was also secured by the Philadelphia Flyers.
As Zharovsky continues to develop in the KHL, fans and analysts are eagerly watching to see if he can make the leap to the NHL sooner than expected. If HFTV’s insider information holds true, this could be a significant moment for the Canadiens and their pursuit of talent.
Stay tuned for further updates on Zharovsky’s potential move and its implications for the Canadiens as the season unfolds.
