American Truck Simulator Expands to B.C. with New Locations
BREAKING: The highly popular video game, American Truck Simulator, is set to expand into British Columbia, bringing iconic locations such as the Coquihalla Summit, Mount Robson, and the Okanagan Valley into the virtual trucking experience. This exciting development, announced by developer SCS Software, is generating significant buzz among gaming enthusiasts and truck driving fans alike.
The B.C. expansion marks the game’s first venture outside the United States since its launch in 2016, which has sold over six million copies globally. Daniel Nemec, head of marketing at SCS Software, stated, “Most of us have British Columbia on our bucket list for travelling,” reflecting the fascination players have for the province’s stunning landscapes and national parks.
This expansion will seamlessly connect with the existing in-game world, where players can drive from Washington State to the breathtaking vistas of British Columbia. The announcement has sparked excitement, especially among long-haul truck drivers who share a deep connection to these routes.
Jared Jensen, a retired truck driver with nearly 30 years of experience, expressed his enthusiasm about the new locations. Streaming the game on his Twitch channel, Viking Hammer Gaming, he engages with fans by simulating real-life trucking scenarios. “I want to give viewers a sense of what it’s like to be a long-haul truck driver,” Jensen said, adding that he is thrilled to revisit familiar B.C. locations virtually.
The game features detailed models from well-known manufacturers like Peterbilt, Mack, and Volvo, allowing players to customize their trucks for a realistic experience. Jensen, who uses a wheel and pedals for an authentic feel, noted, “I feel at home all the time travelling highways in the simulator that I used to travel.”
Although the expansion is still in development without a confirmed release date, the trailer has showcased stunning visuals, including the R.W. Bruhn Bridge in Sicamous and scenes of Mount Robson. The anticipation is palpable, with many players eager to experience the beauty of British Columbia from behind the wheel.
Dave Earle, president and CEO of the B.C. Trucking Association, acknowledged the game’s appeal, stating, “As a long-haul driver, you get to see the entire continent in all its breathtaking majesty.” He emphasized that the game offers a unique opportunity for players to explore North America while providing insight into the trucking lifestyle.
With players and fans eagerly awaiting more details, the B.C. expansion of American Truck Simulator promises to be a game-changer in the virtual driving community. As excitement builds, keep an eye on updates from SCS Software for more information on this thrilling addition to the game.
This expansion not only enhances the gaming experience but also highlights the real-life beauty and challenges of long-haul trucking, making it a significant development for both gamers and truck driving enthusiasts alike.
