Atlético Ottawa Launches Capital Pride Month with Major Match

UPDATE: Atlético Ottawa is set to ignite Capital Pride month with the highly anticipated fifth annual “Soccer is for Everyone” match today at 4 p.m. at TD Place. This vibrant event will feature a massive Pride flag parading across the field, accompanied by a spectacular smoke demonstration during the opening ceremony, celebrating the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
In a powerful display of inclusivity, Atlético Ottawa is teaming up with Volkswagen to support five local 2SLGBTQ+ organizations: Capital Pride, Capital Rainbow Refuge, Ten Oaks Project, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ottawa (PRISM Program), and the newly formed Ottawa Pride FC. This collaboration highlights the club’s commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for all.
As fans gather for this monumental match against York United FC, the first 500 fans will receive free branded bucket hats, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event not only promotes soccer but also emphasizes the importance of community support and solidarity.
