URGENT UPDATE: The provincial government of British Columbia has just announced that it is entering mediation with the B.C. General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) as the strike intensifies into its eighth week. This significant move comes as the strike continues to disrupt services to the public, businesses, and employees throughout the province.
Long-time mediators Vince Ready and Amanda Rogers have been appointed to facilitate these discussions, according to a bulletin released by the Finance Ministry today, October 17, 2023.
