**Bail Hearing Postponed Again for Man Charged in Fatal Shooting**
UPDATE: The bail hearing for Chris Fahlman, the Regina man charged with the September 12, 2023 shooting death of Tanya Myers, has been postponed yet again. This marks Fahlman’s third court appearance, which took place virtually on November 2, 2023, as his defense attorney, Sharon Fox, requested additional time to prepare.
Fahlman, aged 42, is facing serious charges, including manslaughter and three weapons-related offenses stemming from the tragic incident that occurred on Highway 39 near Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Myers, 44, was shot while riding as a passenger in an SUV, prompting widespread community outrage and a heavy media presence at the court hearing.
Fox expressed her concerns in court, stating she received a “very brief disclosure” that “created more questions than answers.” As a result, she emphasized, “We are not in a position to proceed at this time.” This delay has left the families and friends of the victim feeling frustrated and anxious for answers.
The courtroom was filled to capacity during Thursday’s hearing, with many attendees traveling from Weyburn to Regina to support Myers’s family. Among them was Andrea Morrice, the driver of the SUV during the incident, who voiced her disappointment over the repeated postponements. “I want to know what happened that night… how accidental it was or wasn’t,” Morrice stated. She plans to attend the bail hearing when it occurs but will not return to court on Friday.
Fahlman is set to make his next appearance in provincial court in Regina on November 3, 2023, where hopes are high for scheduling a bail hearing for the following week. The community continues to seek clarity on the events leading up to the shooting, as the emotional toll weighs heavily on those affected.
This case has sparked significant interest and concern within the community, highlighting the pressing need for justice and transparency. As developments unfold, the pressure remains on authorities to provide timely answers and ensure accountability.
