UPDATE: A Batavia man will remain in custody as he awaits trial on a first-degree murder charge after allegedly confessing to killing his wife. Authorities responded to a 911 call made by Hector B. Luvianos shortly after 4:30 a.m. on December 23, 2023, where he stated he had just killed his wife.
Emergency responders arrived at an apartment in the 100 block of Church Street to find Noemi Parada Narvaez, 43, with fatal injuries. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kane County Coroner, Monica Silva, noted that toxicology tests are pending but did not provide preliminary details on the cause of death.

According to officials, Luvianos was found outside the apartment when police arrived, while inside, they discovered the victim with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have classified this incident as a domestic crime, stating there is no ongoing threat to the community. Chief of Police Eric Blowers echoed these sentiments in a news release, urging the public to remain vigilant while the investigation continues.
In a heartfelt statement, Coroner Silva expressed condolences to the family of Parada Narvaez, emphasizing the difficult nature of such losses, especially during the holiday season.
