Beloved Bill Danz Passes Away, Celebration of Life Set for August 30

UPDATE: William ‘Bill’ Danz, a cherished family man and community member, passed away peacefully at home on August 27, surrounded by his loved ones. His final moments were filled with the warmth and joy he had shared with others throughout his life.

Bill is now reunited with his late wife, Kathy Danz, and his beloved parents, Violet and Bud Danz. He was a devoted father to Robert Danz (Jennifer), Cassie Danz (Toni), and Lindsay Danz (Chris). Bill was a proud grandfather to Alex Onishenko, Kaelan Danz, Noah Danz, Alyssa Hutson, Aiden Danz, and Naomi Danz, and an excited great-grandfather to Amadeus Danz.

Bill was not just a family man; he was a loving brother to Pat Stanghetta (Phillip) and Brenda McMillian (Mel), a fun-loving uncle to many, and a dear friend to Andrea Marshall. Known for his generosity, he delighted in sharing snacks with his fur friends—KayD, Homer, Penny, and Roberta.

With a career as a proud millwright, Bill worked alongside friends at St. Mary’s Paper and Algoma Steel, always striving to brighten others’ days with his humor and kindness. His family remembers him as a jokester and a compassionate soul, determined to ensure everyone felt valued.

In honor of Bill’s life, a celebration is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, from 12 to 4 p.m.St. Vincent’s Food Bank or a food bank of your choice, reinforcing his commitment to helping those in need. Donations can be made online or via cheque.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional caregivers who provided comfort and peace to Bill in his final days.
