Beloved Ida Spadafora Passes Away at 91, Leaving Legacy of Love

BREAKING NEWS: Ida Spadafora, a cherished matriarch and beloved community figure, has passed away peacefully at the FJ Davey Home on September 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Her passing marks the end of a remarkable life filled with love and family connections.

Ida, who enjoyed a loving marriage with her husband, Domenico Spadafora, for over 65 years, leaves behind a legacy of joy encapsulated in her family. She is survived by her children: Salvatore “Sam” (Susie), Francesco “Frank” (JoAnn), the late Vittoria McCann (Kevin), and Rosa Maria Iuliano (Carlo). Her pride extended to her grandchildren, including Serena Pino (Justin), Sierra Watling (Brendan), and Carmela Chrispin (Grant), who all fondly referred to her as “Nana” and “Big Nana.”

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, located at 942 Great Northern Road, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 noon at St. Veronica’s Church on 559 Douglas Street, officiated by Father Michael Omojola. The service will culminate with entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
