In the lead-up to Remembrance Day, Lougheed House is honoring the history of Calgary’s Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC) with a special display from November 7 to 9. The Field of Crosses memorial, located along Memorial Drive in northeast Calgary, will be open to visitors from November 1 to 11. The Military Museums will hold its own ceremony starting at 10:45 a.m., featuring the Last Post, a two-minute silence, and the laying of ceremonial wreaths. After the service, the museum will be open for donations, inviting guests to lay wreaths or real poppies at the Eternal Flame monument.

A special service will also take place at the helicopter landing area behind The Hangar Flight Museum, a historic site from the Second World War.
