Calgary’s Girl Guides Launch Cookie Sale: 17K Cases Available Now
URGENT UPDATE: The streets of Calgary are buzzing with excitement as the Girl Guides of Canada kick off their annual cookie sale. 17,000 cases of delectable cookies are now available for eager customers across the city, with each case containing 12 boxes, totaling around 200,000 boxes of cookies!
Today, Calgary residents can grab these treats for just $6 per box or $72 per case. The funds raised will directly support vital programs and activities for girls in the community, making this sale a significant event for the Girl Guides.
“So it’s chocolatey mint cookie season, and we’re excited to see our girls out selling today,” said Megan Belenky, deputy commissioner of the Girl Guides of Canada. This beloved tradition dates back to 1927, serving as the organization’s main fundraising initiative.
“In order for us to participate in any other fundraisers, we have to sell cookies,” Belenky emphasized. “Cookies are super important to all of our units.” This year, the iconic cookie boxes have received a fresh makeover, promoting the message that buying a box is an investment in empowering girls.
The funds raised from cookie sales enable unique adventures, including travel opportunities for various units. “We buy the girls crests and badges, fun supplies like markers and tents, and also support units traveling to places like Italy, Switzerland, and London,” Belenky explained. “It goes a long way in enriching their experiences.”
As Calgarians flock to support this time-honored initiative, the impact of their purchases extends beyond just cookies. Each box sold contributes to the growth and development of young girls, fostering skills and confidence that last a lifetime. Don’t miss out on this chance to support the future leaders of our community!
Get your cookies now and be part of a tradition that celebrates the power of girls. Supplies are limited, so act fast!
