Cambridge Food Bank Launches Urgent FoodForward Initiative for Businesses
URGENT UPDATE: The Cambridge Food Bank has just launched its vital FoodForward campaign, urgently inviting businesses in the Waterloo Region to participate in hands-on activities that directly support food security initiatives. This initiative aims to raise $42,000 through immersive workshops and team-building experiences focused on sustainable food practices and community engagement.
CEO Dianne McLeod emphasized the importance of this program, stating, “Teams will come in, they can cook, sort food, garden alongside us. They’ll see the Food Bank in action, learn new skills, and gain a deeper understanding of food insecurity in our community.” Through these experiences, participants will reduce stigma, build empathy, and spark conversation about food insecurity, a pressing issue in the region.
The FoodForward campaign is seeking 52 corporate groups to join in, contributing to the mission of feeding those in need while fostering team cohesion and social responsibility. Non-profit organizations are also encouraged to participate through food donations or fundraising efforts.
This initiative is made possible thanks to the support from the Waterloo Region Community Foundation, which provided funding through its 2024 Community Grants. The funds have been allocated for branding and launching this essential program.
Businesses interested in making a difference can sign up online. This opportunity not only helps the food bank but also allows employees to engage meaningfully with their community, enhancing their understanding of local challenges.
ACT NOW: Join the fight against food insecurity by participating in the FoodForward campaign. Together, we can build a stronger community and ensure that no one goes hungry. For more information and to book your team’s session, click here.
This initiative is a call to action for businesses to step up and contribute positively to the lives of those in need. Don’t miss the chance to be part of a transformative experience that supports your community today!
