The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) is facing serious scrutiny following the arrest of four individuals, including active members and ex-members, on charges related to far-right activities. These individuals allegedly plotted to forcibly seize land in the Quebec City area and face multiple charges, including facilitating terrorist activity and possession of prohibited firearms. The arrests come after an 18-month surveillance operation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which began when equipment and weapons went missing from military installations.

The RCMP confirmed that the suspects had been monitored since 2021, leading to the seizure of firearms in January 2024. Among those arrested, three individuals have been charged with serious offenses concerning their alleged involvement in extremist activities. The fourth suspect faces charges related to the possession and storage of prohibited firearms and devices.
