Capstone Launches Canada’s First Biblically Informed ETFs Today
UPDATE: Capstone Asset Management Inc. has officially launched Canada’s first biblically informed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) today, marking a significant shift in investment options for Canadian investors. The ETF series units of the new funds are set to begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) as the market opens this morning, October 30, 2025.
This groundbreaking development is poised to impact many investors seeking options that align with their values. “Many Canadian investors have expressed interest in investment options that reflect their values,” said Glenn Murray, CFA, President and CEO of Capstone Asset Management. The Funds offer a disciplined approach to equity investing, integrating biblical research criteria along with traditional fundamental analysis.
The launch includes two mutual funds, each featuring four mutual fund series of units and one ETF series of units. Investors can purchase these funds through registered dealers and hold them in both registered and non-registered accounts, all denominated in Canadian dollars.
Capstone utilizes a rigorous research methodology guided by four biblical principles: valuing all human life, stewarding creation responsibly, encouraging human flourishing, and applying biblical wisdom. This unique approach is designed to identify companies that align with these values, while also applying traditional market analyses.
Under the leadership of Paul Carter, CFA, the funds are managed by a seasoned team that has driven the successful Capstone Canadian Equity Income Strategy since its inception in October 2022. To ensure a comprehensive evaluation process, Capstone has partnered with Brightlight Impact, a third-party research firm, to provide independent analysis of potential investee companies.
“We’ve worked for many years with clients and foundations who want to steward their assets with both wisdom and integrity,” stated Maria Dawes, BBA CIM CFP, Portfolio Manager at Capstone. “These new funds provide a solution that brings together professional investment management with values alignment that matters.”
Capstone Asset Management has been an innovative force in the investment management landscape since its founding in 2004. With offices in Langley, British Columbia, and Cambridge, Ontario, the firm manages assets for a diverse clientele, including high-net-worth individuals, institutions, financial advisors, and faith-based organizations.
This launch comes at a time when ethical investing is on the rise, with more investors demanding options that reflect their personal beliefs and values. As the market opens, many are eager to see how these biblically informed ETFs perform, setting a new precedent in the Canadian investment landscape.
For those interested, detailed information about the funds, including commissions, fees, and risks, is available in the prospectus. Investors are encouraged to act quickly as these innovative funds become available in the market.
Stay tuned for updates on the performance and reception of these funds as they begin trading. This moment marks a pivotal step for both Capstone and the Canadian investment community, merging faith and finance like never before.
