BREAKING NEWS: Coeur Mining, Inc. has just announced major high-grade exploration results from its Las Chispas silver and gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, and its Kensington gold mine in Alaska. This development could significantly impact the company’s resource base and market positioning.

Drilling results from Las Chispas reveal astonishing grades, including 1.0 feet at 4.61 ounces per ton (oz/t) gold and 392 oz/t silver. This discovery comes from the North Las Chispas vein, which was identified only last September. The Augusta vein is also showing promising expansion, with drill intercepts of 1.2 feet at 0.81 oz/t gold and 113.8 oz/t silver.

At Kensington, drilling continues to uncover high-grade zones. Significant findings include 7.1 feet at 11.5 oz/t gold in the Upper Kensington Zone, along with continuity across multiple veins, enhancing the mine’s operational flexibility. These results are critical as they reaffirm the mine’s potential for long-term production.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT: Coeur’s aggressive drilling strategy, now ramped up to nine drill rigs, is designed to accelerate resource growth amid a strong market for precious metals. The company’s sustained focus on organic growth through exploration is leading to new discoveries that promise to extend mine life significantly and enhance returns on invested capital.

Mitchell J. Krebs, Coeur’s Chairman and CEO, stated, “Our exploration efforts have generated multiple new discoveries, leading to consistent reserve increases. The exceptionally high-grade intercepts at Las Chispas and Kensington are particularly encouraging and could redefine our production strategy moving forward.”

The Las Chispas mine, acquired in February 2025, has been the focus of an intensified drill program following a review that confirmed existing resources cover only about 55% of the known silver-gold veins. The revised 2025 drill plan targets high-priority areas for both strike and depth extensions, aiming to convert inferred resources into indicated ones.

In Alaska, Kensington’s ongoing drill programs are yielding impressive results, with significant intercepts from the Upper and Lower Kensington zones indicating a robust mineralization continuity. Recent drilling at the Elmira deposit confirmed its potential as a key production source, with results such as 9.1 feet at 1.52 oz/t gold solidifying its importance.

As the drilling progresses, Coeur expects to build a pipeline of targets for future growth, with detailed structural modeling and geochemical studies currently underway. This proactive approach is positioning Coeur as a dominant player in the precious metals market, particularly as demand continues to rise.

WHAT’S NEXT: Investors and stakeholders will be closely monitoring further developments from both mining sites, especially as Coeur expands its exploration efforts in response to these promising results. The company is set to release additional data and updates in the coming weeks, keeping the momentum going in the race for precious metals.
