Danko Jones Reveals New Album ‘Leo Rising’ Set to Drop Nov. 21
BREAKING: Canadian rock powerhouse Danko Jones is gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated album, Leo Rising, dropping on November 21, 2023. This marks a significant milestone for the band, celebrating 29 years of relentless touring and music making.
In an exclusive interview, Danko Jones shares insights into the challenges and triumphs of their journey. “The grind of the travel is tough,” he admits, reflecting on the difficulties of being away from home while maintaining the passion for their craft. “It was easier in the beginning, but it gets harder as the years go on.” This stark reality resonates with many artists as they navigate the demands of the music industry.
Fans can expect 11 new tracks on Leo Rising, showcasing a fresh focus on melody compared to their earlier works. “There’s been more attention to melody over the last five albums,” Jones explains, emphasizing his growth as a musician. The album also features a collaboration with legendary guitarist Marty Friedman on the track Diamond in the Rough.
“If our last album had anthems like Kiss’s ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’, we hope ‘Everyday is Saturday Night’ will resonate similarly,” says Jones, hinting at the album’s potential impact.
The first advance single, What You Need, unexpectedly gained traction on radio, altering the album’s promotional trajectory. “It was meant to be a teaser track, but it took off,” Jones reveals, showcasing the unpredictable nature of the music business.
Danko Jones remains committed to their signature sweaty, barroom hard rock style, even as they evolve with age. “I’m very spritely, and that’s what I’m hoping gets me through all this as I get older,” Jones jokes, acknowledging the physical demands of touring.
As the band prepares for the album launch, they continue to produce elaborate music videos, including a new visual for Diamond in the Rough, featuring a Swedish Kiss tribute band. This creative approach highlights their dedication to engaging fans in unique ways.
With Leo Rising set to release in just two weeks, anticipation is building among fans and music lovers alike. The album promises to deliver the energy and passion that Danko Jones is known for, making it a must-listen for rock enthusiasts.
Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches. This is a developing story, and fans are eager to see how Danko Jones continues to influence the rock scene after nearly three decades.
