Dixon Boys Cross Country Dominates Kaneland Invite with 46 Points

UPDATE: The Dixon boys cross country team has triumphed at the Kaneland Invitational, scoring an impressive 46 points and leaving runner-up Downers Grove North trailing with 83 points. This victory, achieved on Saturday at the Larry Eddington Invitational, underscores Dixon’s strength in the sport.
A standout performance came from Averick Wiseman, who clocked a personal-best time of 14:58.65, securing second place for the Dukes. Fellow teammate Dean Geiger followed closely in fourth with a time of 15:12.91. Other notable finishes included Keegan Shirley in eighth place with 15:28.10, Alonzo Bautista in fourteenth with 16:02.82, and Westin Conatser finishing eighteenth at 16:12.77.
In the junior boys race at Geneseo, Isaiah Rojop led Sterling with a strong fifth-place finish, clocking in at 16:44. Meanwhile, in the senior race, Charles Johnson from Sterling secured ninth with a time of 17:10.2. Rock Falls’ Ian Finney closely followed in tenth place at 17:15.9.
On the girls’ side, Dixon’s Daniela Lovett showcased her talent by finishing second in the senior girls race at Geneseo with a time of 18:59.9. Kamryn Rogers also contributed to the team’s performance, finishing fourth at 20:14. Rock Falls’ Kat Scott came in tenth with a time of 21:25.
In golf news, Forreston clinched victory at the Salley Wessels Invitational, shooting a total of 315 to narrowly surpass Fulton, who scored 318. The Cardinals were led by Darin Greenfield with a score of 75. Dixon finished fifth with a score of 346, while Oregon shot 350 to take sixth place.
At the Freeport Invitational, Grant Hartman from Sterling finished in 51st place with a score of 96. The event was dominated by Rockford Boylan, who emerged as the champions with a team score of 313.
In volleyball, Rock Falls secured third place at the Bradley-Bourbonnais invite with notable victories over Grayslake North and Hersher, showcasing the skills of Kaltrina Lecaj with 29 kills and Isela Valdivia with 57 digs.
