UPDATE: E.J. Warner threw two touchdown passes as the Fresno State Bulldogs clinched a 20-17 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to five games. The Bulldogs, now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mountain West Conference, showcased a dominant defense that forced four first-half turnovers.

Fresno State built an impressive lead with Warner connecting with Josiah Freeman for touchdowns of 12 and 24 yards. Additionally, Dylan Lynch contributed with field goals of 21 and 38 yards during a pivotal second-quarter run that resulted in a commanding 20-3 halftime score.

As the second half unfolded, Nevada switched quarterbacks, bringing in freshman Carter Jones, who sparked a late-game rally. Jones threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dakota Thomas late in the third quarter and later connected with Caleb Ramseur for a 17-yard score, narrowing the gap to just three points early in the fourth quarter.

Despite the pressure from Nevada, Fresno State’s defense held strong, particularly during a critical 15-play, 68-yard drive that consumed the last 8:42 of the game. Warner’s key plays included a crucial 13-yard gain on third-and-8, keeping the drive alive against a relentless Wolf Pack defense.

Nevada struggled offensively, with their trio of quarterbacks combining for just 22 yards passing in the first half and three interceptions. Starter Chubba Purdy faced significant challenges, finishing 0-for-4 with two interceptions. Jones ended the game completing 11 of 15 passes for 121 yards but could not secure the comeback.

Fresno State’s victory marks a significant achievement, with their first two Mountain West Conference wins since 2018. As the Bulldogs celebrate this win, fans eagerly anticipate their next challenge, hoping to extend their winning streak further.

Stay tuned for more updates as Fresno State continues its season with momentum and determination.
