Ejaye McComb Appointed to Georgian Bluffs Council Seat NOW

UPDATE: Ejaye McComb has been officially appointed to the vacant council seat in Georgian Bluffs, following the resignation of Ryan Thompson who stepped down in September to take on the Chief Administrative Officer role. The urgent announcement was made during a special township council meeting on Wednesday.
This appointment comes after a rigorous selection process that attracted 15 applications before the October 9 deadline. The council conducted thorough eligibility checks and encouraged candidates to present their qualifications, culminating in a closed session discussion by council members.
“We’re excited to welcome Mr. McComb to council,” stated Mayor Sue Carleton in a news release. “On behalf of the township, I’d like to thank everyone who applied and shared their interest in serving the community. Council was impressed by the calibre of candidates who came forward, and we look forward to working with Mr. McComb over the next year.”
Ejaye McComb, a resident of Georgian Bluffs for 16 years, has deep roots in the community. He currently resides south of Kilsyth and brings a wealth of experience from the technology sector, with extensive backgrounds in operations, product management, finance, and team leadership. McComb has held senior positions in both private and public sectors and currently serves as the vice-chair of the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce.
In addition to his professional background, McComb has actively contributed to his community by serving on several boards, including the Property Standards Committee of Georgian Bluffs, Tara Minor Soccer, and Chatsworth Minor Hockey. Notably, he ran for a council position during the 2018 municipal election, finishing sixth in voting, narrowly missing a seat.
McComb will be sworn in at a special council meeting scheduled for November 5, marking the next step in his public service journey. His appointment is seen as a pivotal moment for Georgian Bluffs, as the council looks to enhance community engagement and support in the coming year.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as McComb prepares to take on his new role in serving the Georgian Bluffs community.
