Father Leads 17th Annual Walk for Justice for Murdered Daughter
UPDATE: For the 17th consecutive year, grieving father Jeff Buziak is set to lead the annual Lindsay Buziak Walk for Justice on February 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. The walk will begin at Saanich Municipal Hall and proceed to the B.C. Legislature, drawing attention to the still-unsolved murder of his daughter, Lindsay Buziak, who was brutally stabbed over 40 times in 2008.
The horrific crime took place when Lindsay, a 24-year-old real estate agent, was lured to a Gordon Head home under the pretense of a property showing. Despite nearly two decades passing, the case remains unresolved, spurring Jeff’s relentless pursuit of justice. “Every day I feel troubled by it,” he stated, emphasizing the emotional toll the unsolved murder has taken on him and his family.
Jeff Buziak, now residing in Calgary, has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the Saanich Police Department and their handling of the investigation. He revealed that police have informed both him and Lindsay’s mother that no officers are dedicated to her case on a daily basis. “The homicide of Lindsay Buziak is an open and active investigation,” Saanich Police reassured the public, claiming that detectives are actively working on the case.
Despite this promise, Jeff continues to express skepticism and frustration. He recounted, “Just over a year ago, I had triple-bypass open heart surgery – one of the most complicated and horrific operations a human can go through. That was all because of stress from Lindsay’s unsolved murder.”
The emotional burden has not only affected Jeff but has also cast a dark shadow over Lindsay’s close and extended family. He lamented, “Lindsay’s family and close friends are in prison because of this stress, while the killers walk free. We’ve been suffering for 18 years.”
As the anniversary of Lindsay’s death approaches, Jeff remains steadfast in his commitment to uncovering the truth. “I held Lindsay at the morgue, and I vowed to her that I would find out who did this to her,” he remarked passionately. “I will not stop till I succeed or I die trying.”
The annual walk is not just a tribute; it is a call to action. Jeff aims to keep the case in the public eye, reminding authorities of the urgent need for justice. “I’m going to keep walking every year to make sure the public and the police are aware that we need to have justice.”
Join the walk and support Jeff Buziak’s quest for justice for Lindsay Buziak as he continues to seek answers in this heartbreaking case. The community is invited to stand with him and honor Lindsay’s memory, ensuring that her story is not forgotten.
