Gates Swing Open for Whoop-Up Days 2025 in Lethbridge!

UPDATE: The highly anticipated Whoop-Up Days 2025 officially kicked off today at noon in Lethbridge, with eager attendees lining up outside the gates before they opened. After months of hard work and planning, organizers are excited to welcome the community to this vibrant annual festival.

As the first guests streamed through the gates, Kaira Cale, the Lethbridge and District Exhibition manager of event development, expressed her delight: “To be at the heart of a community event like this, it’s just wonderful. Everyone’s happy, ready to ride rides, come to the family fun zone, and enjoy great food. It’s just such a good time.”

The midway is bustling with activity, thanks to a quick turnaround by West Coast Amusements, which had just two days to prepare the grounds after a long drive from North Battleford. Despite the tight timeline, everything was ready by opening day. Robert Hauser, president and CEO of West Coast Amusements, noted, “Two days is ideal. That way our guys don’t have to work as hard, and everything gets cleaned with more attention to detail.”

This year, the excitement continues with an added day of festivities! For the first time, the midway will be open on Sunday, August 24, from noon to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy a special deal with discounted $5 tickets. “So far, we’ve heard great things. I think it’s going to be a busy day. It’s just an extra day for families to come out and enjoy the midway and some extra food,” Cale added.

Admission is free until 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, making it easy for families to experience the fun without breaking the bank.
