Halloween Hop Kicks Off Today: Fun for All Ages Until Oct. 31

UPDATE: The annual Halloween Hop officially kicks off today, offering thrilling fun for the community in Brandon, Manitoba until October 31. Local businesses are joining forces to create unforgettable experiences while supporting vital charities.
Festivities begin at Alternative Choice Garden (34th Street and Patricia Avenue), The Green Spot (1451 Rosser Ave.), and Livingstone Outdoor (1619 Byng Ave.). Each venue has curated exciting attractions designed to entertain families of all ages.
At The Green Spot, a bale maze awaits adventurers with a $5 entry fee, all proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity. Livingstone Outdoor features its spine-chilling Haunted House, open until October 30. Enjoy eerie rooms and heart-pounding jump scares from 6 PM to 10 PM tonight, extending to 6 PM to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. A “no-scare” hour for younger visitors runs nightly from 6 PM to 7 PM, with tickets priced at $10 for ages 12 and up, and $7 for children under 12. Proceeds support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westman and Habitat for Humanity.
Families can capture memories at the haunted greenhouse selfie station at Alternative Choice Garden, while enjoying games like Yardzee and Tic-Tac-Toe. A family pass is available for $10, with all proceeds directed to Westman Dreams for Kids.
As part of the celebrations, the Brandon Wheat Kings will make a special appearance on Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM for fan meet-and-greets.
Additionally, don’t miss comedian Matt Falk, performing in Neepawa this Friday and again in Brandon on November 5.
Events continue at noon with the Brandon Public Library and Brandon General Museum and Archives hosting Dark History Tours. These walking tours delve into the city’s more sinister past, exploring themes of epidemics, murders, and shocking stories. Interested participants must sign up by visiting the library or contacting them directly at 204-727-6648.
At 1 PM, the Westman 365 Cancer Care Support Group meets monthly at the Centre For Hope, offering resources and support for cancer patients and caregivers. Registration is available by calling 204-728-0221.
The evening features a rich lineup of community events, including the Brandon Fall Fundraising Dinner at the Clarion Hotel and Suites, beginning at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $50 each.
Don’t forget to check out Songs from the Porch at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at 7:30 PM, showcasing works by composer Diogo Peixoto during the pandemic.
As part of the ongoing effort to support local causes, community members are encouraged to participate in the Halloween Hop, creating a festive atmosphere while contributing to meaningful initiatives.
