UPDATE: The highly anticipated Hope and Action Festival is currently underway at Fanshawe Conservation Area, drawing community members together for a weekend focused on environmental stewardship. The festival launched on October 25, 2023, with special programming for high school students, emphasizing hands-on learning aimed at inspiring youth to contribute to a greener future.

Amy Bumbacco, marketing specialist with the Upper Thames River Conservation Area, stated, “This work is so important, because it first helps to celebrate all that hard work that’s happening in the community to build a bright future.” She added that the festival encourages public involvement, offering opportunities for volunteering and lifestyle changes toward environmental sustainability.

Today, the festival features a free, family-friendly celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including live music, interactive activities, food trucks, and captivating birds of prey demonstrations. The music lineup showcases local talents, starting with performances from London South Collegiate students at 10 a.m. and continuing with artists such as Katherine Fischer, Dawn Redskye, Shawn Durant, Fiker, Fraser Teeple, and Kevin’s Bacon Train throughout the day.

The Hope and Action Festival is an annual event hosted collaboratively by the Upper Thames River Conservation Area, Thames Talbot Land Trust, and the City of London. It aims to strengthen community ties while fostering a commitment to environmental action.
