Hundreds Camp Overnight for Epic Black Friday Sale in Victoria
UPDATE: Hundreds of eager shoppers lined up overnight at Epic Games and More in Victoria for a highly anticipated Black Friday sale that kicked off at 9 a.m. on November 25, 2025. As the doors opened, a line stretching around Hillside and down Nanaimo welcomed the first wave of customers, each ready to snag the latest Pokémon cards.
The excitement began on Friday night when three friends, Sam Perkins, Justin Wei, and Kiyen Glover, set up camp outside the store. “This is the earliest that they’ve shown up for sure,” said store owner Nick Briand, who provided the trio with a free meal to fuel their long night. Despite the cold and minimal sleep, the young shoppers were in high spirits, eagerly awaiting the store’s opening.
With an estimated few hundred shoppers in attendance, the store’s special Black Friday promotions included a blowout table and limited availability on trading card game items. As the store opened, staff allowed groups of 40 customers in at a time, ensuring a fair shopping experience. Many shoppers expressed their preference for in-person purchases, citing the need to inspect items for quality—something often lost when shopping online.
While waiting in line, Perkins shared their plans for the Pokémon cards: “Rip’em and then sell’em probably.” They each prepared to spend around $150 on the coveted collection. Newcomers Nathan Cain and Filip Bednarz, who joined the line later, expressed their hesitation about buying from online marketplaces and were determined to secure their purchases in person next time with better supplies.
Inside the store, excitement buzzed as customers scooped up a variety of items, from Nintendo Switch games to retro consoles. The atmosphere was electric, with shoppers fully engaged in the thrill of the hunt, making the hours spent in line worthwhile.
This weekend’s Black Friday sale at Epic Games and More runs through Sunday, promising even more opportunities for bargain hunters. As the store prepares for another busy day, customers are reminded that patience and dedication pay off in the ever-competitive world of gaming collectibles.
Stay tuned for more updates as the sale continues, and don’t miss out on the latest trends in gaming this Black Friday!
