iBASIS Acquires Telstra’s Wholesale Assets, Expands APAC Presence

UPDATE: iBASIS has just confirmed a major acquisition of wholesale voice, mobile, and messaging assets from Telstra International, marking a significant step in its expansion across the Asia-Pacific region. This transaction enhances iBASIS’s global footprint, reinforcing its status as the preferred partner for Tier One domestic carriers.

The Asset Sale and Purchase Agreement (APA) was announced today, solidifying iBASIS’s growth strategy. “We are extremely proud to partner with Telstra. With this acquisition, iBASIS will gain exclusive rights for international wholesale voice services for Digicel Pacific, covering key territories including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Nauru. The transaction is set to significantly bolster their commercial scale and geographic reach, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, alongside existing operations in Hong Kong and Singapore.
