Jake Vaadeland Unveils Festive Album Ahead of Holiday Tour
Jake Vaadeland, the celebrated Canadian musician, has launched his latest holiday album, Goodness Gracious, It’s Christmas! The album, recorded during last year’s Christmas tour with his band, The Sturgeon River Boys, features a blend of live performances and studio recordings that encapsulate the warmth and charm of the festive season.
The new six-track album includes live renditions of beloved holiday classics such as “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” “Christmas Time’s A-Coming,” and “Run Rudolph Run.” It also features studio versions of favourites like “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem.” This project aims to evoke the spirit of togetherness that characterizes Vaadeland’s performances, particularly during the holidays.
Reflecting on the album, Vaadeland expressed, “This record really takes me back to the Christmases I grew up with on the farm. It reminds me of the carolers going door to door, everyone gathered in the country church, and Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa’s — sleigh rides, skating on the pond, the house full of family, food, music, and laughter. Those memories shaped the way I see this season, and getting to share that feeling through these songs is really special to me.”
Celebrating a Landmark Year
The release of Goodness Gracious, It’s Christmas! comes at the end of a remarkable year for Vaadeland, marked by significant accomplishments. He earned his first JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year, a CCMA Award for Alternative Country Album of the Year, and a Western Canadian Music Award for Roots Artist of the Year. Additionally, he made history by becoming the youngest artist to receive Road Gold Certification for selling 25,000 tickets across Canada within a year.
Vaadeland also gained recognition as a Top 3 finalist in the prestigious CCMA Top of the Country program, emphasizing his rising prominence in the music scene. Throughout the year, he released new music, including his award-winning album One More Dollar To Go, along with uplifting singles such as “Great Joy & Happiness” and “Everybody Loves My Little Darling.” Each release has contributed to a year defined by creativity and connection with his audience.
Upcoming Holiday Tour
Following the positive reception of his album, Vaadeland will embark on the Goodness Gracious, It’s Christmas! Tour, beginning on November 27, 2025. This tour will bring festive entertainment and storytelling to over 20 cities across Western Canada, continuing a popular tradition after last year’s sold-out performances.
Vaadeland’s 2025 touring schedule follows an extensive international tour that included performances in the U.K., Europe, and the United States. Highlights from this period include three tours in the U.K., a live performance on BBC Radio 2, and sold-out shows in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark. In early 2026, he plans to further expand his international footprint with performances in Norway, Sweden, and Belgium, alongside return shows in Denmark and the Netherlands. His efforts have resulted in a career milestone of more than 50,000 tickets sold worldwide across ten countries.
