Jewish School in Paris Vandalized in Urgent Attack; Investigation Underway
UPDATE: A shocking attack on a Jewish primary school in eastern Paris has left the community reeling. French prosecutors confirm that the Beth Loubavitch – Beth’Hannah primary school was vandalized over the weekend, with multiple windows smashed and a CCTV camera ripped off.
The assault occurred on Saturday evening in the 20th district of Paris. Prosecutors reported that the vandals broke three windows, damaged security equipment, and removed a plaque from the building, which was later discovered in a nearby square. Fortunately, the attackers did not gain entry into the school itself.
Authorities are moving swiftly, launching a full investigation to identify those responsible for this disturbing act. This incident comes at a time of heightened tensions in France, particularly following the escalation of violence in the Middle East. The attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, has led to a noted increase in antisemitic sentiments and acts across the country.
Recent data from the French interior ministry reveals that 886 antisemitic acts were recorded between January 1 and August 31, 2025, highlighting the urgent need for community safety and vigilance. This figure, while showing a 20-percent decrease from the previous year, underscores ongoing concerns about rising antisemitism in France.
Members of the Jewish community have voiced alarm over the recent surge in antisemitic incidents, emphasizing the need for greater protection and support. In November, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez reaffirmed his commitment to combating antisemitism, assuring community leaders of the government’s efforts to address and reduce these troubling trends.
As the investigation unfolds, residents and community leaders are urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in the area. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by minority communities in France and the importance of solidarity during these trying times.
