Kendall County Fair Celebrates 4-H Kids’ Achievements Now

URGENT UPDATE: The Kendall County Fair has just wrapped up an exhilarating week celebrating the accomplishments of local 4-H members. This annual event, held in August 2023, showcased the incredible skills and knowledge of youth involved in 4-H programs, highlighting their dedication and hard work in various projects.
This year, the fair provided an invaluable platform for young participants to display their achievements through animal shows, exhibits, and hands-on activities. Tina Anderson, 4-H Program Coordinator, emphasized the importance of these events, stating, “4-H shows provide youth with a valuable opportunity to showcase their hard work and to receive helpful guidance for continued growth.”
The fair spotlighted projects across seven key areas, including animal science, STEM, and creative arts. Participants learn essential life skills such as decision-making, time management, and teamwork, fostering independence and leadership among the youth.
One standout participant, Jaiden Mahler, a 4-H alum and current intern at the Kendall County Extension, shared her insights, saying, “I think the biggest thing I will take with me will be that if you put the work in and set goals, it will pay off in the end.” Jaiden is set to continue her education at Oklahoma State University and expressed how much she would miss the community that 4-H has built.
During the fair, numerous community members stepped up to support the program, from judging events to sponsoring awards such as trophies and banners. Anderson extended her gratitude to all volunteers, stating, “Each year, our 4-H show volunteers provide youth this important growth experience.”
This year’s 4-H show was made possible with the support of various sponsors. The 2025 Extension Supporters included top-tier contributions from organizations such as the Kendall-Grundy Beef Association, with additional support from Gold Level sponsors including the 4-H Livestock Auction Committee and Groot Waste Management.
With the fair now concluded, the 4-H members and their families look forward to future events and the continued growth of these vital programs. The experience gained through participation in 4-H is not just about competition; it’s about building lifelong skills and fostering a spirit of community service.
As the local community reflects on the success of this year’s fair, all eyes are on the upcoming projects and initiatives that will continue to empower the next generation of leaders.
Stay tuned for more updates on the impact of the Kendall County 4-H program and its ongoing efforts to enrich youth development. This fair has not only marked the end of a 4-H year but also the beginning of many more opportunities for learning and growth.
