KIJHL Announces Week 6 Team: Murphy Stars for Dynamiters
BREAKING: The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) has just announced its Team of the Week, spotlighting standout performances for the period ending October 26, 2023. In an impressive display, Jackson Murphy of the Kimberley Dynamiters played a pivotal role in their recent 6-4 victory against the Columbia Valley Rockies, assisting on the first two goals and finishing with a remarkable +4 rating while logging 16:42 on ice.
The action continues to heat up in the KIJHL as players make significant impacts on their teams. Jake Kessler of the Kelowna Chiefs also shined, contributing to a thrilling 9-7 win over the Sicamous Eagles with two assists. He then scored in a crucial 4-3 overtime win against the Osoyoos Coyotes, showcasing his skill with an average of 20:51 on ice and a +2 rating.
The spotlight is also on Rylan Konecsni, a local star from the Kelowna Chiefs, who dazzled fans with a hat-trick and two assists in the same game against the Eagles. Konecsni further secured his legacy by netting the overtime winner against his former team, the Coyotes, finishing the week with a stellar +5 rating across both games.
In the Princeton Posse, Bryton Morrow demonstrated his scoring prowess, netting four goals, including the game-winner in a decisive 5-2 victory against the Merritt Centennials. Morrow also assisted in another win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers, maintaining an impressive +4 rating.
Another notable player from the Posse, Justice Loewen, provided all the assists in their 5-2 win over the Centennials. This marks his second consecutive week being recognized, as he teamed up with Morrow for a crucial goal against the Wranglers.
In goal, Austin Seibel of the Revelstoke Grizzlies has made headlines with back-to-back victories, including a standout performance with 34 saves in a 4-1 win against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. Seibel capped off his week with a remarkable shutout against the Fernie Ghostriders, achieving a stunning 0.50 goals against average and a .986 save percentage over the two games.
