Longtime Victoria Radio Host Al Ferraby Charged with Child Luring

URGENT UPDATE: Al Ferraby, a well-known morning radio host on CFAX in Greater Victoria, has been charged with two counts of child luring. The charges come after an investigation by the Vancouver Police Department’s child exploitation unit, which culminated in his arrest in February.
Court records reveal Ferraby faces one count of luring a child under the age of 16 and another count related to a child under 18. These serious allegations have shaken the local community, where Ferraby has been a familiar figure since joining CFAX in 1994.
Authorities confirm that the charges were officially laid on September 18, 2025. Ferraby, aged 59, has been active in local events, often singing the national anthem at sports functions and participating in community initiatives such as Santa Anonymous.
CFAX has responded by suspending Ferraby pending an investigation, stating on their website that they are aware of the situation. The station has not provided further details, and efforts to reach Ferraby for comment have been unsuccessful.
The community’s concern is palpable as many remember Ferraby’s contributions to local culture and charity. None of the allegations have been proven in court, highlighting the importance of due process as this situation unfolds.
As the investigation continues, the public is urged to stay informed about the developments. This case raises significant questions about the safety of children and the responsibilities of public figures.
What’s next? Watch for updates as the Vancouver Police continue their investigation and as more information about the charges and Ferraby’s response becomes available. This case is expected to attract considerable attention in the coming days, given Ferraby’s prominent role in the Greater Victoria area.
