Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Gunfire in Markham

UPDATE: A 51-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a disturbing incident in Markham where shots were fired at a vehicle. The York Regional Police responded to a weapons call on the afternoon of October 1, 2023, near Pringle Avenue and Wooten Way, close to Highway 7 and Ninth Line.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and observed two vehicles speeding away from the scene. Upon arrival, police only found shell casings on the roadway, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. A nearby security camera captured a suspect firing a weapon from one vehicle at another, prompting an immediate investigation.

Earlier this week, investigators identified the suspect as Ralph Richard Trilokie of Markham. He has been charged with several serious offenses, including discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
